About LSUS

Chancellor's Welcome

MarsalaFew choices you make in life will offer as many long-lasting rewards as the decision to earn a college degree. Whether you are pursuing your first degree, upgrading your skills, planning for graduate study or considering classes for personal growth, LSU Shreveport can be one of the most positive choices you'll ever make. We are proud to have earned the reputation of being challenging, innovative, and diverse.

LSUS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools -- a distinction which means we are zealous in maintaining our high level of academic excellence. We are further strengthened by being one of nine institutions networked across the state within the LSU System. LSUS enrolls over 4,000 students in the two academic colleges of Business, Education and Human Development and Arts & Sciences.

There are 38 undergraduate and 13 graduate programs to choose from. Although there are a few large lecture classes, most classes average 21 students. Many of our students pursue their degrees while working full-time or part-time; therefore, we offer a wide range of morning, evening and weekend on-campus classes, as well as at several off-campus locations.

LSUS also offers an impressive number of lifelong learning and professional development courses for our citizens and business and industry through the Division of Continuing Education and Public Service. Each of our programs and offerings contributes to LSUS's mission as the regional comprehensive university serving the Shreveport-Bossier City metropolitan area and the Ark-La-Tex committed to creating an environment in which people can learn, discover, and enrich their lives.
